NDIS Pricing & Funding at SDA Care
At SDA Care, we are committed to providing transparent and fair pricing for all our NDIS services. We want to help you understand how NDIS funding works and how we manage payments for the supports you receive.
Our commitment to NDIS pricing guidelines
SDA Care is a registered NDIS provider. This means we adhere to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits set by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). These guidelines ensure that NDIS participants receive value for money from their NDIS funds.
The NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits outline the maximum price that registered providers can charge for specific NDIS supports.
These prices can vary based on the type of support, the time of day, the day of the week, and sometimes the location due to remote or very remote classifications.
You can access the latest NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits directly on the official NDIS website (we recommend always referring to the latest version).
Understanding your NDIS funding management options
How your NDIS plan funding is managed will determine how SDA Care processes payments for your services. Read below, to understand each option.
NDIA-Managed (Agency-Managed) Funding
If your NDIS plan is NDIA-Managed (also known as Agency-Managed), the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) pays SDA Care directly for the supports you receive.
Provider Choice
As an NDIA-Managed participant, you must use NDIS registered providers like SDA Care for your supports.
Service Delivery
Once your Service Agreement is in place, we will deliver the agreed-upon supports.
Payment Claims
After delivering the support, SDA Care will submit a payment claim directly to the NDIA through the NDIS portal.
Service Delivery
Once your Service Agreement is in place, we will deliver the agreed-upon supports.
No Out-of-Pocket Expenses for You
You do not need to handle invoices or make payments to us yourself for approved services; the NDIA takes care of this.
Track Your Funding
You can view the bookings and claims made via the my NDIS participant portal or app.
For more information, visit the NDIS page on NDIA-Managed Funding.
Plan-Managed Funding
With Plan Management, you nominate a registered NDIS Plan Manager who is responsible for managing the funding in your NDIS plan. They handle the financial administration, including paying your providers from your NDIS funds.
Flexibility in Provider Choice
Plan Management allows you to use both NDIS registered providers (like SDA Care) and non-registered providers.
Service Delivery
After your Service Agreement with SDA Care is finalised, and we have the details of your Plan Manager, we will deliver the agreed-upon supports.
Invoicing Your Plan Manager
SDA Care will send invoices for the services provided directly to your nominated Plan Manager.
Payment Processing
Your Plan Manager will claim the funds from the NDIA and then pay SDA Care's invoices on your behalf.
No Direct Billing to You
You generally won't need to handle invoices from us directly; this is managed by your Plan Manager.
Budget Oversight
our Plan Manager will also help you keep track of your NDIS budget and provide regular statements.
For more information, visit the NDIS page on Plan Management.
Self-Managed Funding
Self-management gives you the most control and flexibility over your NDIS funding. If you (or your plan nominee) choose to self-manage, the NDIA provides you with the funding directly, and you are responsible for paying your providers.
Maximum Flexibility
As a self-managed participant, you can choose to use NDIS registered providers (like SDA Care) or non-registered providers.
Service Delivery
Once your Service Agreement is in place, we will deliver the agreed-upon supports.
Invoicing You Directly
SDA Care will send invoices for the services provided directly to you (or your plan nominee).
Your Payment Responsibility
You are responsible for paying SDA Care's invoices by the due date using the NDIS funds provided to you.
Claiming from NDIS
You will then need to make a payment request through the my NDIS portal to be reimbursed from your NDIS plan funds or to draw down funds if you've received them in advance.
Record Keeping
It's important to keep good records of all invoices and payments when you self-manage.
For more information, visit the NDIS page on Self-Management.
Important information regarding costs
Travel costs for support workers
In line with NDIS Pricing Arrangements, SDA Care may charge for support worker travel in specific situations. This can include:
Time spent travelling to provide face-to-face support to you.
Transporting you as part of a community access activity.
There are rules and limits on chargeable travel time (e.g., typically up to 30 minutes each way in metropolitan areas, and up to 60 minutes in regional areas). Additional costs like tolls, parking, or a per-kilometre rate (if a support worker uses their own car to transport you) may also be claimed if agreed upon. All potential travel charges will be discussed with you and clearly outlined in your Service Agreement.
Cancellation policy
Our Service Agreement includes a cancellation policy. Generally, if you need to cancel a scheduled support service with short notice (e.g., less than 2 business days, as per NDIS guidelines, but please check your specific agreement), a cancellation fee equivalent to the full cost of the service may apply. We encourage you to provide as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.
Goods and Services Tax (GST)
Most NDIS supports and services are GST-free. If GST does apply to any component of our service, this will be clearly indicated and will comply with Australian taxation law and NDIS guidelines.
